Following the London premiere of The Black Prince, award-winning singer, songwriter, poet and actor Satinder Sartaaj was honoured at the inaugural Indian Awards 2017 held at the House of Commons. Amarjit Singh, Chief Executive Officer of the India Business Group (IBG), presented him with a special momento in recognition of his work in promoting Indian cultural relations on a global level.
The prestigious function celebrated the 70th anniversary of India’s independence, the UK/India Year of Culture, and recognised key contributions to the relationship through a set of special awards. It was attended by senior officials (including H.E. Mr Y.K Sinha, the Indian High Commissioner), UK Ministers, business leaders and celebrities. On request by the audience, Satinder Sartaaj performed his famous Sufi song ‘Sai’ which was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience.
