Popular as highway robber, 27-year-old Harjinder Singh Bhullar alias Vicky Gounder was arrested in December 2015 by Tarn Taran police as one of the accused in the murder of gangster Sukha Kahlwan. Lodged in Ropar jail earlier, he was shifted to Nabha jail following a clash. Gounder had even celebrated the murder of gangster Jaswinder Singh Rocky on Facebook inside Nabha jail. Rocky was killed in Parwanoo on April 30 this year. Before that, Vicky had even threatened Bathinda SSP Swapan Sharma in April by using a mobile phone from Nabha jail. He had posted a message on Facebook after Rocky’s murder, describing Sharma as Rocky’s friend.
Vicky hails from Muktsar’s Sarawan Bodla village which is in CM’s constituency, Lambi. Police were keeping watch on Lambi and areas around it, confirmed Muktsar SSP Gurpreet Singh Gill. “There are around six cases of murder and highway robbery against Vicky in Punjab and a number of cases in Haryana as well.” The SSP added, “We had been to his village but no one was home. His two cousins have been brought for interrogation. The rest of the family is missing.”
Vicky hit the headlines in January 2015 for being involved in the murder of gangster Sukha Kahlwan in Phagwara where the murderers broke into Bhangra and made a video of it.
